Fabric Waves Shoes for 3D Printing

“Fabric Waves” Shoes for 3D Printing / NewSkins course

I always wanted to design shoes, more as an addition to my fashion collections but also as an independent experiment with a form and texture. I considered mostly using 3D printing, and combining it with some conventional materials.
I’m genuinely glad that I found truly inspiring environment for my first experiment in this field.
I developed those shoes during the summer course “NewSkins” by Francis Bitonti in New York.

Its design was inspired by beautiful waves of layered thick fabric, fabric manipulations, and biomorphic fashion.

On this page you can see my 3D renders of the shoes, however they are going to be 3D printed.

This render shows how the shoe will look like if printed using white flexible filament.
